As anyone who keeps up with us knows, we like to share an anecdotal story with most posts. As always, the client is always made aware of these posts and proof reads them to ensure client confidentiality is maintained, and all identifying details are always removed. This client was close to us, a family friend of one of our office helpers. They approached us saying their friends spouse was not only grossly misappropriating the funds given to them for child care, but were downright neglecting the child’s care when it was their agreed custody time. Though the parent knew this, with no evidence, our client thought it couldn’t be helped aside from pushing for a better custody agreement. After an introduction - and working out a price plan that was manageable for a single parent fighting a lengthy legal battle - we got down to business and gathered the evidence that they needed. The parent under surveillance was documented neglecting the child’s care, consuming narcotics around them, and even leaving the house with the child unattended for brief periods of time. Though it was a severely disappointing and unfortunate sight, the silver lining is that evidence is exactly what the judicial/authoritative body needed to see, and our connection to the client says the child is growing up in a much better and loving home these days.
