Fighting Personal Insurance Claims [Part Two of Two]
In today’s entry of the Rainy Day Private Investigative Services [PIS] Investigator’s Gazette, we’ll be finishing our two part series on discussing insurance claims. This latter half of this series will be focusing on what you can do to stand your ground against hostile insurance allegations, where as the first half detailing what you can do as an insurance company to protect yourself against fraudulent claimants can be read by clicking here.
Have you been in a vehicle collision and suffered a quality of life loss and are looking to supplement your legal case? Consult your legal counsel today about contracting Rainy Day PIS. A good investigator can make all of the difference in a legal battle.
Canada alone in 2019 had approximately 8,917 serious auto related injuries reported by Transport Canada, with a staggering 140,801 total injuries for that year. Sometimes these injuries can result in a loss of ability to work, and you would think after paying your costly premium your insurer would have your back - unfortunately, we know all too well that this isn't always the case.
Private investigators are known to work for insurance companies to surveil their clients - while this is true, did you know that some private investigators are actually on your side? From crash scene reconstruction to witness interviews, we use every tool in our arsenal to prove your case and work in conjunction with your legal counsel.
We would like to provide an anecdotal story to accompany this entry. The client is always aware and proof reads them first to ensure their cases are kept confidential, and in this case our client was so thrilled with us that they asked us themselves if we could share their story. After a frustrating back and forth with their insurance provider, they felt like they didn't have a voice and were fighting an uphill, "David and Goliath" battle. This particular incident was not recorded on any cameras, and they couldn’t find a witness - our client was at their wits end, scared of an impending legal battle with an organization that had seemingly endless funds and resources, while our client had no evidence to arm themselves with. Our services were retained, and at first glance nobody in the neighbourhood claimed to have witnessed the accident. However, our experienced investigator thought outside the box and conversed with a trail biker he noticed on his second day in the neighborhood. After an interview, it was found that the biker was able to recall the day of the incident in sharp detail. Our client, their legal counsel, and us here at Rainy Day PIS were pleased as punch to hear their case was settled in a way favouring our client as a result of our interviewing and evidence collection. We love hearing stories of community coming together and having each others backs!
